2011 Venezuela Apprenticeship - 3 Year

Monday, September 19, 2011 - Friday, September 19, 2014
Application Due Date:
15 June, 2011

The hillside barrios of Caracas are a paradox. Both beautiful and violent, they offer the apprentice an excellent opportunity to seek the Kingdom of God among the marginalized. As the apprentice incarnates, their heart will be opened to the wide range of resources and possibilities for ministry in this unique context. For those who’ve completed a discernment visit or an internship with InnerCHANGE and have a growing sense that God is leading them to work with us. The apprenticeship incorporates the action of team ministry and experiences in the slums with guided times of reflection and learning with teammates. A special priority is given to your devotional life with God.

Apprentices will engage in learning the culture and dialect of the barrios of Caracas. During this time, they will participate in neighborhood ministry meeting neighbors and integrating themselves into the community. Apprentices will in the community with youth and children, teach english and literacy, visit and pray for the sick, work towards community transformation by empowering local leaders, and embark upon a contemplative journey with God.
